WebRTC World Conference and Expo - Rapid Acceleration Comes to Atlanta - WebRTC World

Another exciting development is the move beyond evolving existing communications with WebRTC to a whole new paradigm. As I indicated in my last post, new apps like Cube Slam show that adding communications as an ancillary value to a primary use can have great value. We will have companies talking about new business modes for services that WebRTC enables that you cannot do today with any technology. I expect a couple of big surprises at the event as some of the out of the box thinking begins to bear fruit.
Quobis, a seven-year-old Spanish company focused on security, interconnection and integration related to unified communications, came to WebRTC early.
Traditional RTC is corporate, closed, complex and requires expensive audio and video technology. Rich communications on the Web can be cumbersome; require users to find, download, install and update software; and may involve Flash, which has limited quality, long delays and is often unreliable.
A cavalcade of companies did 10-minute WebRTC-related demonstrations Tuesday evening at this week's WebRTC Conference & Expo in Atlanta. The closely timed demos were rated by the audience, which voted PubNub its favorite, and considered by a panel of judges. And a lengthy new group of WebRTC presenters will show off their stuff Wednesday night in the same place.
