The movie Star Trek Into Darkness is set to come out in May. But trekkies can look forward to yet another coming attraction this spring. That's the ability to receive personalized content related to the movie on their smartphones based on their whereabouts and their interactions with things around them.
Here's a deal not to be missed - although we wonder why Wal-Mart didn't get this into the pipeline earlier on and in time to get a lot of iPhone 5s nestled under the Christmas tree. No matter; it's still a great deal, and we can expect a lot of people to take advantage of it. What are we talking about here exactly?
While the recent delegation led by former governor Bill Richardson, featuring Google's executive chairman Eric Schmidt, may have been met with skepticism and a bit of derision, chances are the delegation will be taken a bit more seriously, now that Google has indirectly been responsible for making a bit of history; specifically, locating North Korea's system of hidden prison camps located across the country thanks to Google Earth.
How I Met Your Mother, The Walking Dead and Girls - they may all come from different networks, but these favorite shows of ours all have one thing in common: they leverage the Internet to create a unique fan culture. Remember the Sex and the City episode where Carrie sends Aiden an e-mail and then asks Miranda if that means he can see her? (Of course you do) While this was a hilarious bit at the time and even more so today, it's almost unfathomable to think that we actually once came from such a primal place. Today's big hits have seriously stepped up their game to present new and innovative ways for fans to watch and enjoy.
Have you ever dealt with an extremely frustrating situation and voiced your anguish via your social media page, whether it was on Facebook or Twitter? Lucky for you, chances are that you don't live in Kenya, an African country that puts its citizens in jail for promoting violence and/or hateful language via these sites.
Call him old-fashioned, but my 21-year-old brother has a record player and genuinely loves his vinyl record collection. For Christmas, my sister and I got him two new additions we found at Urban Outfitters. He was really excited to find out it also came with a download code, so he now has the albums in physical and digital form - simultaneously living in the past and the present music-wise. Although the vinyl record and compact disc are definitely past their prime, companies such as Urban Outfitters and Amazon think the two music forms still have some life left in them.
Las Vegas, Nevada, International CES 2013 - T-Mobile USA dropped a bombshell by formally announcing it would be the first wireless carrier in the United States to offer HD voice service on its HSPA network. Initial devices to support wideband audio for phone calls include Android and Windows Phone handsets, with the tantalizing possibility of the Apple iPhone 5 later this year.
