Here's some news to start this fine day: A lot is happening in the world of mobile. For starters, Amazon is working on a smart phone, and the device could be announced at today's Kindle event. People have speculated that Amazon is working on a TV. In fact, AllThingsD's Peter Kafka says Amazon offered to buy Roku last year. Nokia announced two new Windows smart phones yesterday, its flagship Lumia 920 and its little brother the Lumia 820. They're due out this fall. Motorola also had an event -- its first under Google management. There, it unveiled the Droid RAZR HD, its new mobile device that can run for 16 hours on a single charge. Unfortunately, the Motorola event was a total flop. It felt like a dud next to Nokia's event. Ok, moving on from mobile. Y Combinator founder Paul Graham recently cautioned entrepreneurs against taking "lowball offers"—in particular, he said, from Google Ventures. While investors were pouring millions of dollars into Pinterest, another large photo collection startup was quietly growing in Brazil.
