Asavie, a developer of Software Defined Networking (SDN) solutions for the Internet of Things (IoT), has created a new connectivity marketplace that enables Mobile Network Operators (MNO) to offer on-demand configurable connectivity to the developer community and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Altair Semiconductor, a provider of LTE chipsets, has said it will open a new research and development (R&D) center in Oulu, Finland. The new center will focus on the development of core LTE IoT technology. IoT integrators are always moving toward more complete capitalization of Fog devices at the Edge of the Network. These sensor networks, gateways and low power devices often need Bluetooth 4.2 and its variety of features to help bridge the networks.
