Warren Buffett on What Makes a Good Business

Certain companies immediately call to mind the names of their leaders.

Apple brings up Steve Jobs. Amazon leads to Jeff Bezos. So too for Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg.

But Warren Buffett doesn't think investing in a company based on its leader is always the right move, according to a recent document dump that unearthed an interview he did with the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission in May 2010.

"If you've got a good enough business, if you have a monopoly newspaper, if you have a network television station — I'm talking of the past — you know, your idiot nephew could run it," Buffett said. "And if you've got a really good business, it doesn't make any difference."
