As with any technology, especially ones moving toward mass adoption as WebRTC is in the process of doing, the path to widespread acceptance and continuing maturation is never a straight line. There are always going to be bumps in the road. The use of a real-time location system (RTLS) can help as it allows providers to make connections regardless of their location and objective and passive data collection is automated. Proven systems will capture raw data and turn it into useful information so the healthcare provider can improve processes. The helps improve staff productivity and make the use of real-time communications a better return on investment. Farming continues to become more high tech, as crop and livestock operations supplement the use of the latest equipment and chemicals with network connectivity, sensor-based solutions, and even robotics to allow for more efficient use of water, lower labor costs, more targeted planting, and even more effective practices related to animal husbandry. Back in June, when the world was a whole lot warmer and much less snow was involved than is currently seen over much of the Northern Hemisphere right now, Unify announced some specific goals to fundamentally transform the company. Those wondering about progress on that front, a little over six months later, will be happy to note that Unify has made some major gains toward its goals, and offered up some information on just what had happened to the company as a whole. WebRTC is a technology that might seem ubiquitous to some, but it's not everywhere just yet. But that doesn't mean it won't be there soon, if Graham Holt is to be believed.
