Good morning! It will be sunny and warm today and this weekend in New York. Let’s look at the news:

  1. Amazon’s earnings report was a disappointment to investors. Revenue was in line, but EPS was way below expectations, and it forecast a massive $410-$810 million loss for the next quarter. Nobody saw that coming and the stock fell 7% after hours.
  2. Google is working on a new major health program where it will collect health data on 175 people to try to determine a baseline of a perfectly healthy human. It will use that data to then analyze health issues. This is another Google X project.
  3. Apple's Mac software is about to totally change — here's a tour of all the changes.
  4. The next major video game from the team that delivered Halo is coming and it’s awesome according to one of our editors. He played it for five hours straight when he got his hands on an advanced copy.
  5. The cofounder and CEO of Yammer, David Sacks, is leaving Microsoft. This isn’t a surprise since he’s a serial entrepreneur. He sold Yammer for $1.2 billion to Microsoft two years ago and is likely looking for his next big thing.
  6. Zillow wants to buy Trulia for $2 billion. The both do the same thing — real estate listings. The merger would create the largest real estate website company in the U.S.
  7. Check out the offices of Beats, the $3 billion headphones company Apple recently acquired.
  8. These are the 15 best CEOs in tech to work for.
  9. The founding editor of The Verge, Joshua Topolsky, is leaving the site to launch a new technology section for Bloomberg media.
  10. Google's $1 billion purchase of Twitch, a site that streams other people playing video games is a done deal.
