What Made CES 2014 Amazing: The Cars - TechZone360

Part of what made CES amazing was that it was the most like a car show of any event other than, well, a car show. There was the amazing Corvette Sting Ray, the wonderful BMW i3, the really cool Audi technology showcase, the first commercially available self-driving car launched (yep really) and even the launch of a car positioned as better than a perpetual motion car.
The good news for consumers is that T-Mobile, for as long as it can remain a problem, is in effect giving us the choices we crave when looking at our budgets. It would be nice to say that T-Mobile is doing this in the name of consumers, but alas this is as always about making money. We happen to be collateral beneficiaries.
Wallops Island, VA - Orbital Science Corporation launched its first commercial supply mission, designated Orb-1, to the International Space Station (ISS) today, Thursday, January 7, 2014, at 1:14 pm ET.
The latest news on the Apple-Samsung patent wars is that Apple and Samsung are going to give mediation a shot in order to discover if the two companies can find enough common ground to put their ongoing patent wars to rest once and for all. It certainly would make a lot of sense for the two companies to put an end to their differences - which at this point now date back as much as half a decade.
Seven years ago, Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone, shaking up the mobile and smartphone industry. Today, as I visit the thousands of exhibitor booths at CES 2014, it's evident just how much the smartphone has revolutionized not just consumer technology, but businesses and specialized markets. Apple isn't even attending CES but the presence of the iPhone and iOS software is seen everywhere; accessories optimize these devices for different environments, apps are developed to work seamlessly across iOS devices and other mobile devices are launched to compete with the revolutionary iPhone.
Earlier this week I heard about a lawsuit that BlackBerry had filed against a company named Typo. One of the reasons that it got so much news coverage is that one of the co-founders of the company producing the keyboard add-on is Ryan Seacrest.
As expected, the U.S. mobile business is becoming more unstable. Though reasonable observers might expect Sprint to make its own bid to disrupt U.S. market structure, T-Mobile US has been making the immediate assaults.
While much of the time, we like to say, oh, a slow computer never hurt anybody, new research from Crucial.com suggests that it may be time to buy a new computer before the old one does any more harm. The study in question noted that there's a lot of time lost every year to a slow computer, and that's time that could be going into getting more sleep, getting more exercise, or eating better, and that all adds up to a slow computer potentially doing damage to one's health.
