Featured Articles The shocking news that PC sales fell 13.9 percent in this past quarter would have you thinking that Microsoft was on its way out. So how in the heck was Microsoft able to pull a billion in extra revenue out of its hat? Based on the response to the Boston Marathon bombing, social media has once again become the place to which many people turn in a national crisis. There were thousands of Tweets and Facebook comments related to the deadly attacks. Just after 4:30 p.m. EDT when the market closed, IBM announced results for its first quarter, and the news was not good, but not terrible. It will also allow users to tweet songs from iTunes, Spotify and Rdio straight from the app. Just yesterday, social networking mega site LinkedIn added capabilities to its application for both Android and iOS devices. The newly added features are touted with powering a more interactive mobile experience overall, and for the first time, ads are now being displayed on users' smartphones. While each advertisement costs only a mere $1 million, demographics to be targeted include women over and under 30, as well as the same age range for men. Google has updated its YouTube iOS app to version 1.3, including….drumroll…support for live streaming.
